Kinnari Cultural Centre is a self -supporting NGO. Kinnari’s mission is to provide educational aid to the children of the urban underprivileged by raising funds through conducting playschool and hobby classes. These hobby classes are conducted mostly by ladies on a part time basis thus productively utilising their unique skills and talents (and generating some income for themselves).
Kinnari provides an oasis of 4000 sq. ft. of open area by the sea and a room of 250 sq. ft. within the urban concrete jungle for conducting hobby classes for children, such as, Gymnas tics, Taekwondo, Dancing, Calligraphy Writing Skills, Story-telling,
Language classes, Painting, Craft classes such as Punch-craft, Quilling, Decoupage etc. thus, gainfully using their free time. The fees that the children pay for hobby classes are split with the faculty and the other half are retained by Kinnari for providing educational aid to the urban poor i.e. children of our drivers, maids,
workers etc. who cannot afford a decent education.
Currently, Kinnari is able to provide educational aid to approximately 2800 students. On an average, one student needs approximately Rs.3,500/- for his annual school tuition fees.
In recent times, the request for educational support has increased considerably and Kinnari does not have sufficient funds to meet with the demand for aid and has hence resorted to accepting donations (which are tax deductible under section 80-G).
You may want to donate for one or more children’s education. You may also want to donate on your child’s birthday or in memory of a loved one. All your donations are eligible for tax deduction u/s 80-G and Kinnari will issue relevant receipt for the same.
I would be grateful for your support to this worthwhile initiative as education is the only means available to us to help alleviate the underprivileged in India.
